war paint

Being in the military makes me part of the smallest club there is -- only 9% of the population's ever worn the uniform. I couldn't wait to go, and I'm proud of my service. I was a soldier since I was five, and I'll always be a soldier.

My unit does a hundred mile road march every year with full rucks, so I did that four times. Last weekend for Veterans Day I was at Arlington and there was a 1st Sergeant I said "Hey Top, welcome home," and he looked down and saw my jacket with the 9th regiment and said Manchu! Jesus Christ! You're the walkers! Do you have the belt buckle?" And I said "I'm wearing it right now, 1st Sergeant." It's the only unit that wears a different belt buckle, because we're the oldest.

I'm a brother to these guys. It's honorable, I wouldn't change anything for the world.
