The Plot of Sódóma Reykjavík:

Axel is an auto mechanic who has goldfish stored in his mother's bathtub (the reason for this is never adequately explained). Mom wants to take a bath and threatens to flush the fish down the toilet. There's nothing to do other than take a bath, she says, since Axel lost the remote control. Axel says he'll find the remote control and sets out to find his sister, Maja, who's hanging out with some crazy metal-punks at a bus stop. One of them says he has the remote but left it at Unnur's house. They all get into Axel's Firebird and arrive just in time to find a bunch of thugs beating the Snot out of Unnur and setting her sofa on fire. The fire is put out, the remote is found, melted. Unnur says that her brother, Moli, a bootlegger, also deals in black market remote controls. They go to find her brother, who is on the lam from the dreaded M.I. (Mafia Iceland) -- a not so dreaded collection of motley fools, lead by Aggi, who own a heavy metal nightclub called Sodoma. They're looking to kill Moli because the last batch of booze he made was poisionous (he'd been getting his distilate from some strange soda that wasn't made anymore and had to improvise on the last batch) and made everybody at Sodoma fall asleep. Somehow, M.I. mistakes Axel for Moli (who they've never met), they kidnap Unnur and take her back to Sodoma and tie her up in a closet. Axel and Moli go to rescue her. Axel climbs through the duct work and Moli disguises himself as a metal head and goes in the front door. Inside, he finds out that he knows Aggi from some gang they used to be in. Aggi calls the police to turn Moli's distillery in (not knowing that Moli is actually sitting there with them). Moli borrows the phone and calls his gang to warn them and has them move the still to the only place he can think of; Axel's mother's house. Somehow, the word goes through Sodoma that the after-hours party is at Axel's mother's house. Axel finds Unnur and they escape, persued by M.I.. Meanwhile the entire contents of Sodoma are belched onto the streets of Reykjavik at about 3:30 in the morning, drunk as Irishmen. They head to Axel's mom's house and, finding Axel's mom there, drag her, sleeping in her bed, out of the house, put her in a boat, and push her out into the bay. (The reasoning for this is never adequately explained either.) Axel and Unnur, walking back from Sodoma, are spied by M.I., who think Axel is Moli, they run him over with their car and try to drown him but eventually the police show up. M.I.'s wimpy sidekicks escape while the leader is arrested. Most everyone lives happily ever after and Bjork has a song at the end.

Aren't you sorry you missed it?
