38 year old Vladimir Sled was walking along the 4300 block of Larchwood with his fiancé, Cecilia Hagerhall when a man attempted to take Hagerhall's purse, Sled grappled with the attacker while another assailant, Bridgette Black, approached and stabbed Sled to death. Black confessed and was sentenced to 5-12 years. Two other robbers, Eugene "Sultan" Harrison, and Yvette Stewart got 7-14 and 15-30 years, respectively.
